Dr Tushar Mehta: The Earth is on Fire – Understanding The Global Environmental Impact of Animal Agriculture

We are exposed to increasing information about the environmental benefits of plant-based foods, as well as contradictory messages. Join Tushar to listen to his lecture reviewing the fundamental reasons why animal agriculture has a detrimental impact, and the science that quantifies the impact. Climate change, biodiversity loss, food security, and other key parameters will be reviewed, including recent literature from the UNEPA and Lancet journal which is revolutionizing the worldwide discussion.
About Dr. Tushar Mehta: Dr. Tushar Mehta completed medical school and Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto. Currently, he practices Emergency Medicine in Greater Toronto Area, Canada. For many years, on an annual basis, Dr. Mehta volunteered at a medical camp in the Kutch district of India and currently volunteers with a local community project in Haiti. In addition to humanitarian projects, Dr. Mehta takes a strong interest in the medical evidence and environmental science regarding plant-based diet. He lectures on the topic in Canada and abroad, and is passionate about the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental wellbeing. The impact of diet is considered in the context of other global environmental factors caused by overconsumption.
