Our 32nd Veg Food Fest was attended by 40,000 and we welcomed over 230 new Toronto Vegetarian Association members. An expanded map on the East Side of Harbourfront Centre featured dozens of delicious food vendors, an East Exhibition Stage, and a first-ever Veg Out zone for relaxed eating!
The 2016 World Café featured King's Café, Green Zebra, Doug McNish, Chic Peas, Through Being Cool, and Boon Burger. Just around the corner, Apiecalypse Now - Pizza & Snack Bar was teeming in the Boulevard Tent!
Between meals, our program is stuffed with workshops, lectures, fitness classes, music, panel discussions, and other special events. We featured amazing chefs like Terry Hope Romero (Protein Ninja), Taymer Mason (Caribbean Vegan), and 2016 MasterChef Canada Mary Berg! We hosted cooking demos from popular local shops YamChops and Kelly's Bake Shoppe. We presented international nutrition experts Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Reed Mangels, and John Lewis of Bad Ass Vegan. And animal advocates like Farm Sanctuary's Susie Coston, researchers Jonathan Balcombe and Aysha Akhtar, and Wayne Pacelle, author of The Humane Economy.
Thanks to all who joined us in a weekend-long celebration of the best the vegetarian world has to offer, hosted over 10-acres of Harbourfront Centre’s beautiful waterfront!
